My sister's yard is an enchanted, magical place. On this day, I was not feeling well, so I went to her house to rest in her backyard. I envisioned myself lying in her chase lounge to let the sun bath me in its warm light. Everywhere you look, there is something beautiful to behold. It's like stepping into an enchanted garden as you are immersed in Mother's Nature's gifts.
The day started out with pouring rain and a thunderstorm. I slept in late, as I had a terrible stomach bug throughout the night. I was wiped out. As the day wore on, the sun came out and by mid-day, it was 90 degrees. My sister called, and we had a friendly catch-up on the phone. She invited me over, and I knew it was just what the doctor ordered, so I got in my car and drove to her house. I had not been in her yard in a few weeks and when I walked in, I was transported into another realm as if in a fairy tale. I was enveloped in nature's splendor at every turn. Each flower, garden ornament, wind chime, bird feeder, and wooden piece found on the beach are whimsically placed to create an enchanted, magical experience. There's even a fire pit and a stone walkway. And there's a strawberry patch, too.
Magical means a beautiful or delightful experience in such a way as to seem removed from everyday life. Enchanted means placed under a magic spell, having or seeming to have a magical quality, or made to feel delightfully pleased or charmed. That is exactly how you feel when you spend time in my sister's yard. The sun was shining through the trees, low in the western sky. I laid down on the chase lounge, as I had envisioned, and fell asleep dreaming that I was in an enchanted, magical place. And I was.
Peace and Love,
