Hello and welcome. It is my honor to bring you inspirational articles, photography, upcoming events, and general tips on well-being to the Bay Shore community and surrounding towns under my brand, Skylark Live - 60 and Beyond with Skylark.
I began working in New York City after graduating from Farmingdale State College in 1978 and eventually moved there. I have always been passionate about media and entertainment and the ways in which it connects us. After many years working with iconic media brands including HBO, MTV, and CBS, I decided to create my own brand in 2005. Throughout the years, I have been the voice of radio commercials, learning modules, narrations, and TV shows. I have also hosted several radio shows, acted in corporate videos, and hosted on-air and in-person interviews. I am also a jazz singer inspired by the American Songbook. These are some of the greatest songs ever written, and they have become a staple in jazz standards.
I currently write a weekly newsletter and host a monthly vlog called 60 and Beyond with Skylark. When I turned 60 years old, I felt a definitive change - mind, body, and soul - and wanted to talk about it. My vlog goes live on my YouTube channel on the first Monday of each month. This is where I get to speak openly to inspire and motivate women over 60 to thrive in older age through knowledge and self-awareness. I discuss a variety of topics that include happiness, joy, love, relationships, goals, dreams, sorrow, loss, aspirations, personal growth, and so much more! I believe in living our dreams and exploring parts of ourselves that may surprise us as we age. We're never too old to begin again.
In 2012, I moved back to my hometown of Bay Shore and began working at Farmingdale State College a few years later. It was a full-circle moment. In 2020, in the thick of the lockdown, I transferred credits from Hunter College, where I majored in Film and Media Studies for many years, and graduated with a Baccalaureate Degree in Professional Communications from FSC. I am a two-time graduate of this college. It has served me well.
I enjoy writing and sharing with you on this platform. You can also follow me on Patreon, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn under Skylark Live.
Molto Gracie!
Peace and Love,
Skylark
