SKYLARK'S ARTICLE OF THE WEEK - A WIDOW FINDS LOVE AGAIN IN HER OWN FRONT YARD
It was Halloween evening, and Valentina Ferrara was sitting in her front yard with a fire pit lit. Jack-O-Lanterns were ablaze, and a few masked trick-or-treaters had just wandered off into the night. Valentina was sitting on a wooden stool gazing into the glow of the fire when her neighbor, Alice, appeared with her dog and a man. Valentina knew Alice from the neighborhood, but had never seen her with a male companion before. They walked onto the lawn. Dusk came over the sky as nighttime began to fall. Valentina greeted them with a warm mug of apple cider and a cinnamon stick. Alice introduced to her son, John, to Valentina. There were instant sparks between them.
It wasn't long before Valentina and John started to text each other and meet for evening walks. Over the course of the next few weeks, they began to speak on the phone and venture out for rides to the beach to get better acquainted. The salty air and vast sea create a chemical reaction that calms you and puts you at ease. Life is better at the beach.
John had recently moved in with his elderly mother to watch over her. They live in the house John grew up in in a quiet, suburban neighborhood of homes with cement stoops. Valentina lives just around the corner. If they were any closer, their backyards would touch.
It was a slow start, but in time, Valentina began to like John and was hopeful to see him more often. And that's just what began to happen. Morning coffee blended with afternoon tea, and cooking for each other became a way to bond. They took drives out to the Hamptons, to Montauk Point, and to the Vineyards on the North Fork of Long Island. John drives a Jaguar. It's a two-seater. It's the perfect car for long, scenic drives. Road trips give you cozy time together, and you're in your own private world. It's no wonder cars are one of America's favorite pastimes.
Valentina and John are a couple now. She says, "He's a gentleman with old-fashioned values. And he's generous and kind and gentle on the eyes." John was instantly smitten. "The moment we met, I knew I was interested." Valentina and John are enjoying traveling together and getting to know each other's families. What started as a fire in the front yard has turned into a fire in their souls. So, the next time you're looking for love, look in your own front yard or right around the corner on the next block.
Peace and Love,
Skylark

SKYLARK'S SONG OF THE WEEK - A THOUSAND YEARS
LYRICS
A thousand years, a thousand more
A thousand times a million doors to eternity
I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times
An endless turning stairway climbs
To a tower of souls
If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars
The towers rise to numberless floors in space
I could shed another million tears, a million breaths
A million names but only one truth to face
A million roads, a million fears
A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty
I could speak a million lies, a million songs
A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time
But if there was a single truth, a single light
A single thought, a singular touch of grace
Then following this single point, this single flame
This single haunted memory of your face
I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head
And on and on the mysteries unwind themselves
Eternities still unsaid
'Til you love me
