Angels Among Us

SKYLARK'S FEATURED ARTICLE OF THE WEEK - ANGELS AMONG US

It's Christmastime. What a beautiful season to behold. Over the past few years, we've lost a lot of people, but they are Angels Among Us. If we believe that only the physical body dies, then our loved ones have ever-lasting life. They never really leave us. Their spirit shines upon our lives as they are Angels Among Us.

While we are processing grief on earth and living our lives, our loved ones in spirit are also adjusting to their existence in Heaven. You and your loved ones in spirit are connected through the hearts of your spirits. There is nothing that can break the bond of the love you share.

The afterlife (also referred to as life after death) is a purported existence in which the essential part of an individual's identity or their stream of consciousness continues to live after the death of their physical body. The surviving essential aspect varies between belief systems; it may be some partial element, or the entire soul or spirit of an individual, which carries with it and may confer personal identity or, on the contrary, nirvana. Belief in an afterlife is in contrast to the belief in oblivion after death.

In some views, this continued existence takes place in a spiritual realm, while in others, the individual may be reborn into this world, and begin the life cycle over again, likely with no memory of what they have done in the past. In this latter view, such rebirths and deaths may take place over and over again continuously until the individual gains entry to a spiritual realm or otherworld. Major views on the afterlife derive from religion, esotericism, and metaphysics.

Some belief systems, such as those in the Abrahamic tradition, hold that the dead go to a specific place after death, as determined by God, or other divine judgment, based on their actions or beliefs during life. In contrast, in systems of reincarnation, such as those in the Indian religions, the nature of the continued existence is determined directly by the actions of the individual in the ended life.

Whatever you believe, I think most of us can attest to the fact that our loved ones remain among us in some form. We can feel their love long after their physical body is gone. I have heard stories of people having "visits" or lights going on, seeing shadows, or hearing voices. I have also experienced some of these things. Sometimes a scent can remind us of a loved one that has passed away. Christmas is a beautiful time to remember the ones we love. They live forever in our hearts and minds. They are Angels Among Us.

Buon Natale!

Peace and Love,

Skylark

At 60 and Beyond, we embrace the Angels our loved ones become.

SKYLARK'S SONG OF THE WEEK - ANGEL EYES with Kandace Springs and Norah Jones

<!-- EMBEDDED YOUTUBE URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iABBzfvRPL0 -->

Hey, drink up, all you people
Order anything you see
Have fun you happy people
The drink and the laugh's on me
Try to think that love's not around
Still, it's uncomfortably near
My old heart ain't gainin' any ground
Because my angel eyes ain't here
Angel eyes, that old devil's sent
They grow unbearably bright
Need I say that my love's misspent
Misspent with angel eyes tonight?
So drink up, all of you people
Order anything you see
And have fun you happy people
The drink and the laugh's on me
Pardon me, but I gotta run
The fact's uncommonly clear
I gotta find who's now the number one
And why my angel eyes ain't here
Excuse me while I disappear
