The road less traveled can be any road you're on because each time you get in your car, the journey is new. Whether it's a drive around town or somewhere far away, the road opens our minds and frees our thoughts. It can be a good time to get better acquainted if you're with someone or a time of solitude if you're by yourself. When do you get to do that?
Why take a road trip? Road trips are a great way to experience new things. If you're with a partner, it's quality time together. With our busy lives, we don't get much time to relax with each other. Driving can give us some down time once we get out of Long Island traffic. And, if you enjoy the same music, that's even better. Crank it up! Or you can take a trip alone. Either way, the open road can free us from our lives, for the time being, and takes our mind in a different direction. Gaining new perspective can give us a fresh, new outlook on things.
Upstate, New York offers many places to explore. This region is particularly beautiful any time of year, and the landscape changes as we head north. The varied locals that make up this state each have something unique to offer. Whether it's a quaint town in the Catskills, or the sprawling vistas of the great lakes that inhabit areas in the Adirondack Mountains, traveling upstate can be a great weekend getaway. With gas prices on the rise, you'll need a little extra to fill up the tank, but it's worth it. As the seasons are about the change, this month of Spring and Daylight Savings time might just be the perfect time to hit the road. I love New York! Beep! Beep!
