The East Islip High School Orchestra Performs Christmas Classics at the Westfield South Shore Mall in Bay Shore

The East Islip High School Orchestra performed Christmas classics at the Westfield South Shore Mall Monday evening. Sponsored by the Islip Arts Council, this 30-minute performance made you shop, stop, and listen. People of all ages gathered around the musicians in a large circle as the conductor waived her wand in song. Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, and The First Noel were a few of the carols we've all come to know and love. But it was Let it Snow that really wowed the crowd as it was met with thunderous applause. The violins were especially lush, and the cadence was in the pocket.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
but the fire is so delightful,
and since we've no place to go,
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
and I brought some corn for popping,
the lights are turned way down low,
let it snow, let is snow, let it snow.

When we finally kiss good night,
how I'll hate going out in the storm,
but if you really hold me tight,
all the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
and my dear, we're still good-bying,
but as long as you love me so,
let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

These timeless classics always sound beautiful, but the East Islip High School Orchestra made them sound gorgeous tonight.

Let it snow!

Peace and Love,

Skylark
