Captain Bill's for the Holidays in Bay Shore

Image

Nestled on the Great South Bay at the foot of Ocean Avenue in Bay Shore, Captain Bill's remains one of the most classic restaurants in town. This casual, yet elegant waterfront eatery serves spectacular fresh local fish and savory dishes of meat and pasta.

The history of Captain Bill's dates back to the 1920s, when local fishermen would run fishing boats out of a small wooden structure at the foot of Ocean Avenue. Captain Bill Eccleston began expanding on the building and the legend of Captain Bill's was born. The restaurant closed for a time and in 1998, current owners, Peter McCarthy and Michael Korb, approached then owner, John Modica, about reopening the historic landmark. After a multi-million-dollar renovation, Captain Bill's reopened its doors to the public in June of 1998. One year later, the Anchorage was renovated and renamed The Bayview House, accommodating larger parties and waterfront weddings.

There are many choices for dining in Bay Shore, but Captain Bill's remains one of the very best, and its history lives on. Treat yourself to a meal you'll cherish this holiday season. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Peace and Love,

Skylark
