Believe in the Season of Giving. It's the time of year to give to each other and support our communities. The season is abundant with food drives, toy drives, events, and holiday parades and celebrations all around Long Island. Check your town's listings. It's a great time of year to support local businesses, donate to your favorite cause, a Go-Fund-Me campaign, or a local charity. As we support each other, we create a community of giving that can become contagious and, thus, a way of life throughout the year. 

Giving makes us feel good, too, as it evokes gratitude. Whether you’re on the giving or receiving end of a gift or donation, it can elicit feelings of gratitude. It can be a way of expressing gratitude or instilling gratitude in the recipient. And research has found that gratitude is integral to happiness, health, and social bonds. Giving is a good thing to do.
