One of the best places to take in the fall foliage is at Brightwaters Lakes. The incorporated Village of Brightwaters is a tract of land nestled within the Hamlet of Bay Shore. It is home to many families, some of which have roots going back generations and some who found the Village to be the perfect place to raise a family. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, including ducks, geese, and swans who frequent the lakes and give birth here. This picturesque and naturally beautiful section is a model community to many. As a child growing up in Bay Shore, my family and I would stop by the lakes after church and on holidays to take in its majestic beauty. And in winter, there is no better place to ice skate than on these frozen bodies of water that are reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting. No matter the time of year, you can always find something special to see here. Autumn sunsets are especially colorful and a perfect time to stroll the streets that wind in and around Brightwaters Lakes and along the cascade that gives you a panoramic view of the ever-changing landscape. The leaves are taking on such beautiful hues of red, orange, and gold this week, so be sure to stop by for a walk you'll remember this weekend. Enjoy!
Love and Peace,
