SKYLARK'S ARTICLE OF THE WEEK - SPRING AND OTHER THINGS
What a winter. It's been snowing and raining since mid-December. But I've enjoyed it for the most part. I stay busy. I stay present. Let's go.
Daylight Savings time is this coming weekend. I thought there was talk about doing away with this. I guess not. It has a history.
The concept was first suggested by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 as a way to save energy. It was officially implemented during World War I in 1918 to conserve fuel and power. The idea gained traction in the early 20th century, with William Willett campaigning for it in 1907. Various countries adopted DST at different times, often in response to energy crises or to extend daylight hours for economic benefits. Today, many regions still observe DST, although its effectiveness and necessity are often debated.
Opinions about Daylight Savings Time
The opinions about Daylight Saving Time (DST) are divided, with some people preferring to stay in Standard Time all year, while others prefer the extra daylight and the potential benefits it brings. Here are some of the key points of view:
However way you feel about Daylight Savings Time, the best part of it is longer days with late evening sunsets. You can't argue with that.
Peace and Love,
Skylark
At 60 and Beyond, longer hours of daylight give us more Vitamin D. That's good thing.

SKLARK'S PICK OF THE WEEK
My pick of the week is Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale coming to Netflix. This is the third and final film in the saga.
I was late to this series. It did not grab me when it first came out. One night, I sat down and started to watch it again. I was hooked. It is really good, and the first two films were excellent, too. I'm looking forward to sitting down with the Crawley Family once again to see how things turn out.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale will be available on Netflix starting March 7, 2026, completing the streaming availability of the franchise’s cinematic trilogy.
Downton Abbey (2019) – The first film in the franchise, continuing the story after the TV series, is currently streaming on Netflix in the U.S.
Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) - The sequel was added to Netflix on December 24, 2025, allowing fans to watch the Crawleys' adventures in both England and the South of France.
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025) - The third and final film, which concludes the saga, will be available on Netflix starting March 7, 2026. This installment follows Mary Crawley as she navigates estate responsibilities and personal scandals, featuring the return of the main cast including Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, and Maggie Smith, with Paul Giamatti reprising his role as Harold Levinson. It's sure to be packed with spicey scenes.

SKYLARK'S SONG OF THE WEEK - SHOW YOU THE WAY TO GO by THE JACKSONS
Lyrics
Ah, let me show you
Let me show you the way to go
I don't know everything
But there's something I do know (I know, I know)
I've read and heard a lot
And now I'm ready to show
That we can come together
And think like one
Come together now
Live together, underneath the sun
Please, please let me show you
Let me show you
Let me show you the way to go
Follow me, my friend, oh
Let me show you, come on
Let me show you the way to go
Just put your trust in me
I'll try not to let you down
(Let you down, let you down)
The job is hard to do
But only we can work this out
'Cause we can help each other to overcome
We can do it
We can do it now
Rejoice everybody
And get the job done
Please, please, please
Just let me show you
Let me show you
Let me show you the way to go
Follow me, my friend, hey, hey
Let me show you
Let me show you the way to go
Please follow me, now, mm
That we can help each other to overcome
We can do it
We can do it, now
Live together underneath the sun
Please, please, please
Just let me show you
Let me show you
Let me show you the way to go
I swear, I'll never let you down, hey, hey (follow me, follow me)
(Let me show you) Come on
(Let me show you the way to go) We can do it, we can do it (follow me, follow me)
We can do it, now
(Let me show you) uh-huh
(Let me show you the way to go)
Let me, let me, let me (follow me, follow me)
Just let me, let me show you, now
(Let me show you) Come on
(Let me show you the way to go) ah, ah, oh
(Follow me, follow me)
(Let me show you)
(Let me show you the way to go)
I swear (follow me, follow me)
I'll never let you down
(Let me show you)
(Let me show you the way to go) come on
Come on, come on, ay (follow me, follow me)
(Let me show you) come on
Let me show you the way to go
Let me, let me, let me show you (follow me, follow me)
Let me show you (ay-ay-ay)
Let me show you the way to go (ay-ay-ay)
(follow me, follow me) ay-ay-ay
Let me, let me, let me, let me, let me, let me show you
Let me show you
Let me show you the way to go (mm-mm-mm)
Mm, let me show you
Never let you down, never let you down
I'll never let you down
Put your hand on mine
We can do it, we can do it
We can work it out, work it out
Work it, work it, work it out
Mm-mm-mm-mm, mm
And get on top, oh, ay
Let me show you
Let me show you
Let me show you
Let me, let me, let me
Let me, let me show you, ay-ay
Let me show you
Let me show you the way to go
Let me show you, let me show you, ay (follow me, follow me)
Let me show you (come on, come on)
Let me show you the way to go, ay-ay-ay-ay (come on)
(Follow me, follow me)
Let me show you, ay-ay-ay-ay
Let me show you the way to go, ay-ay-ay-ay
(Follow me, follow me)

MY BRAND - SKYLARK LIVE
I created my brand, Skylark Live, when I turned 60 years old and noticed a profound shift in this age. I wanted to talk about it and share what I was experiencing with the hope of helping other women as well. My brand consists of a weekly newsletter and a monthly vlog designed to motivate and inspire women over 60 to thrive in mature ageing through knowledge and self-awareness. I am open to conducting in-person conversations called The Skylark Sessions. These can be held in someone’s home or at a local library or senior center. To be continued.
Skylark Live Weekly Newsletter - My weekly newsletter, 60 and Beyond with Skylark - Living Life Inside and Outside the Home, features articles about human interest, nature, general observations, inspiration, goals, motivation, places I've been to, and ideas I want to explore. I open to ideas of what to write about, so let me know. I represent Bay Shore and towns beyond. There is also a calendar of events. I throw in Italian words, too, because I love the language and all things Italian. Bella Italia! As a subscriber, you will receive my newsletter each Wednesday morning in your email. That gives you a head's up. You can also advertise your business or event on my newsletter. Just click this link to subscribe: For updates, subscribe to our free newsletter! You can also become a paying subscriber.
Skylark Live Monthly Vlog - My first Monday-of-the month vlog is a recap of the articles I've written in my newsletter throughout the previous month.
