SKYLARK'S ARTICLE OF THE WEEK - EMBRACING THE SEASON OF CHRISTMAS
Here we are once again. The Season of Christmas. You hear so many conflicting feelings about this time of year. I say, let's embrace it. Buon Natale. Merry Christmas.
I read an article recently about putting up Christmas lights and decorations too soon. There were so many varying opinions. Some people feel the sooner the better, while others think any decorations up before Thanksgiving is just too soon. Personally, I think it's never too soon for glistening lights. They lift our spirits. An office building near me left their Christmas lights up all year last year. I looked forward to seeing them each evening as I gazed out my window to watch the sunset.

The moon was so bright Monday night. That's the best light of all. It was hanging in the southern sky over the rooftop of the historic home, Sagtikos Manor. I had to stop and pick up a Christmas basket I won there. As I pulled onto the property, it was pitch dark as I drove along the stone driveway. The only light guiding me was the moon. It was glowing as it cast a light over my path like a night light. Batteries not required.

The Season of Christmas is special. No matter what religion you are, most people embrace this exquisite season. How could you not. It's gorgeous. From the lights, to the displays, to the gifts, you can't help but feel young again, alive again, and happy again. Splenda la vostra luce. May your light shine brightly.

This is the perfect season to donate food, clothing and gifts. As we enter another Christmas season, let's remember those less fortunate than we are. There are food banks and toy drives everywhere. Just check your local paper. A lot of supermarkets have food drives this time of year. You can also donate to Feeding America at www.feedingamerica.org. Your local church is also a great place to donate. A little bit goes a long way.
The Season of Christmas isn't always easy to embrace. Everyone is going through personal trials and tribulations. But this season reminds us that life is precious. Christmastime is a time to celebrate being alive, giving to others, and honoring the light that surrounds us and resides in each of us. Let go, and let the magic of Christmas envelope you, inside and out.
Peace and Love,
Skylark

SKYLARK'S SONG OF THE WEEK - IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS by BING CROSBY
LYRICS
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
Take a look at the five and ten, it's glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes that glow
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door
A pair of hop-along boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of Barney and Ben
Dolls that'll talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope of Janice and Jen
And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go
There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well
It's the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Soon the bells will start
And the thing that'll make 'em ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door
Sure, it's Christmas once more
