SKYLARK'S FEATURED ARTICLE OF THE WEEK - LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND
Today is Valentine's Day, but love can be celebrated every day. Love is patient, love is kind. Love is everywhere. We can celebrate love every moment of our lives. It is our driving force, it's what we wake up for, and it's what we all crave to give and receive. Love is all-encompassing.
Love is an intense, deep affection for another person. Love can also refer to a strong like for something. Love has many other senses both as a verb and a noun. Love as a verb is an action, and doing something for someone else can be a very rewarding aspect of love. Telling someone you love them makes you both feel good. We are born into love, and Valentine's Day is a special day to honor and express this powerful emotion that is at the heart of our very existence.
Let's talk about some of the origins of Valentine's Day. Saint Valentine who was a 3rd-century Roman saint, was commemorated in Western Christianity on February 14 and in Eastern Orthodoxy on July 6. From the High Middle Ages, his Saints' Day has been associated with a tradition of courtly love. He is also a patron saint of Terni, epilepsy and beekeepers. Saint Valentine was a clergyman – either a priest or a bishop – in the Roman Empire who ministered to persecuted Christians. He was martyred and his body buried on the Via Flaminia (an ancient Roman road leading from Rome over the Apennine Mountains to Ariminum (Rimini) on the coast of the Adriatic Sea) on February 14 (Valentine's Day), which has been observed as the Feast of Saint Valentine since at least the eighth century. That's Amore!
I thought I'd list some ways to say I love you to the loves in our lives, including ourselves. Here are just a few that came to mind:
Treat yourself to a bouquet of flowers.
Write a love-letter to yourself.
Buy yourself something you've always wanted.
Take a bubble-bath even if you think you don't have the time. Use your favorite soap.
Put love notes on the kitchen counter and throughout the house for your family.
Blow a kiss to someone passing by.
Take a child out for a "date". Tea Parties are always fun.
Put a lottery ticket in a card and mail it to someone you love.
Make a list of 10 things you love most about your significant other and text it to them one item at a time throughout the day.
Go to a movie with your love or a friend and share some popcorn together.
Skip chores and go for a walk at sunset with a favorite someone.
Text a friend and tell them five things you admire most about them.
Offer to babysit a friend's children or grandchildren so they can have some free time for themselves.
Pick up some items at the food store for a neighbor or friend.
Bring your friend a latte while they're working.
Schedule a sick day with a friend and go to brunch together.
Make your friend or love a song mix that includes songs that are meaningful to both of you.
Cook a meal for someone and drop it off at their home.
Visit someone who isn't able to get out and about.
Visit your love at the office.
Contribute to a charity that you love.
Ti amo. I love you.
Peace and Love,
Skylark

SKYLARK'S SONG OF THE WEEK - THE LOOK OF LOVE by BURT BACHARACH
The Look of Love lyrics
The look of love is in your eyes
A look your smile can't disguise
The look of love
It's saying so much more than just words could ever sayAnd what my heart has heard, well, it takes my breath away
I can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you
How long I have waited, waited just to love you
Now that I have found youYou've got that look of love
Is on your face
The look that time can't eraseBe mine, tonight
Let this be just the start of
So many nights like this
Let's take a lover's vow
And then seal it with a kissI can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you
How long I have waited, waited just to love you
Now that I have found you, don't ever go
Don't ever go, I love you soI can hardly wait to hold you, feel my arms around you
How long I have waited, waited just to love you
Now that I have found you, don't ever go
Don't ever go, don't ever go

SKYLARK'S INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE FOR THE WEEK - LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND
Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
