Skylark Live Town News - Bay Shore - Changing Things Up a Bit

First, I'd like to say thank you to all of my readers and subscribers. If you haven't done so already, please consider subscribing to my newsletter, Skylark Live Town News, and follow me on social media on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn under my brand, Skylark Live. I also have a YouTube Channel where you can find my vlog, 60 and Beyond with Skylark. Please subscribe and click the bell to get notifications when I upload a new video.

I've been writing my newsletter for a while now, and it's gaining some ground. Beginning next Wednesday, I'm going to be switching things up a bit. Like the phases of the moon, I find myself in a new phase. I'd like to focus more on my message of thriving as we age through knowledge and self-awareness with a more in-depth weekly article rather than the three shorter articles I've been writing. I will continue to keep it whimsical, informative, fun, and inspiring. You may have noticed that lately, I've been incorporating some Italian words and phrases into the text of my articles. You may ask, why Italian? What does that have to do with anything? Well, I'm passionate about all things Italian and thought it would be fun to learn some of this bella lingua (beautiful language) together. My last name is Irish, but there's much more Italian blood running through my veins. I hope to spend summers in Italy when I retire.

As many of you know, I started my vlog, 60 and Beyond with Skylark, a few years ago when I was turning 60. I felt a profound shift, and I wanted to talk about it. So, each first Monday-of-the-month, I record a vlog and upload it to my YouTube Channel. I cover many topics that include happiness, faith, hope, goals, dreams, and desires. There is no end to the things I enjoy talking about that I want to share with you. My newsletter reflects my vlog.

Some of you may also know that I'm in college working towards my Baccalaureate Degree in Professional Communications. It's going very well, and I hope to graduate by the time I retire so when I go to Italy in the summer, I don't have to take my textbooks. Sto solo scherzando (just kidding in Italian). Going to college as an older person is easier because we have better skills. I've been going to school most of my adult life. I love learning. There are so many fascinating aspects to this beautiful life we are privileged to live, and I want to continue to embrace the opportunities that education affords me. I'm especially interested in media and communications. My course work has enabled me to become a better writer of articles that are compelling. I really consider myself a storyteller. Since time is more of a commodity as we age, I'd like to spend my time writing articles that delve a bit deeper into topics that have meaning for all of us as we age. I will also keep a calendar of art and music events, as well as other happenings around Bay Shore, and beyond.

Thank you for taking this journey with me. Let's see where it takes us, 60 and Beyond.

Peace and Love,

Skylark

At 60 and Beyond, it's good to keep our heart and mind open to new ideas and endless possibilities.
