This year, instead of “lighting the night” before Christmas, the Bay Shore Beautification Society has decided to use the tradition to ring in the New Year. On New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m., the community will light their luminaries. (Rain date of Jan. 1, 2022 at 5 p.m.) Luminary kits are $10 each and contain 12 luminaries. Kits can be bought at the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Public Library, Brightwaters Village Hall, Brightwaters Deli, Drew Patrick Spa, Amanda’s Bakery, Willy Nilly, Dulce de Leche, Variety Florist and Brightwaters Hardware.
