The Bay Shore Historical Society will meet on Thursday, February 19th, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Bay Shore - Brightwaters Public Library (1 South Country Rd., Brightwaters, NY).

To celebrate Black History Month, our guest speaker, Dr. Bilal Polson, will present "A Century of Black History Commemorations". This year marks 100 years of national observances dedicated to honoring the lives, struggles, and achievements of African Americans. Dr. Bilal Polson is the principal of Northern Parkway Elementary School in Uniondale and a Bay Shore resident. Dr. Bilal Polson holds advanced educational degrees from Adelphi University and Hofstra University.
